Itโs been a packed week!
Monday - the House passed the Medical Devices and Medicines Bill which will help free up more GP appointments and personalised medicines. And also passed the next phase of HS2 - the Birmingham to Crewe line
Tuesday - Final vote on Prisoners (Dislcosure of Victims Information) Bill which is known as Helenโs Law. This will see stricter sentencing for murderers and peadophiles who do not disclose information about their victims. Also pleased to join Mike Hopkins from South & City College in Parliament at an event for Midlands Colleges
Wednesday - the House held debates on flooding and health inequalities. Three of the Select Committees that I sit on also had there first meeting: Future EU Partnership, Procedure and Regulatory Reform
Thursday- I caught up on emails, and also visited Merritts Brook Academy and saw some of the amazing work the children are doing on climate change.
Friday was packed, starting the day at a business round table followed by a police and schools panel meeting. I then went to visit the Longbridge Park and Ride to see how itโs getting on. I raised my concerns about the plans to charge for parking there with the head of projects. . I then met with the people who are in charge of the Three Estates redevelopment, asking why itโs taking so long to do The day was finished off at the South & City College Apprenticeship awards ceremony
Saturday - attendee an morning event to celebrate 50 years of the Irish Post, and a couple of hours delivering โthank youโ leaflets again
Now Iโm travelling back to London for the week ahead.
