Gary was born in Birmingham in 1989 and has lived in the City his whole life.
He grew up in the Kingstanding part of the City and first stood for election, to be the councillor for his area, at just 18, coming within 80 votes of winning. He studied at Birmingham City University and obtained a degree in Human Resources and worked in several professions as well as being elected to Birmingham City Council for the Kingstanding Ward in 2014.
In 2019 he became the first Conservative to win the constituency of Birmingham Northfield since 1987 with a majority of 1640. He now lives in Longbridge with his family and since becoming an MP has successfully led campaigns to scrap the hated bus lane on the Bristol Road, championed the redevelopment of Longbridge and bid for Levelling Up funds for Northfield as well as dealing with over 20,000 pieces of casework from local people.
He is leading on campaigns to protect local services and help wherever he can.
