Across Birmingham, there has been a lot of house building. But is has often been out of the reach of local residents.
The city centre has boomed. Apartment blocks popping up on the skyline. But the same can’t be said for the suburbs of Birmingham.
Working with the local community, West Midlands Mayor, Andy Street and developers, Gary will push for more homes to be built in our area. But taking a sensible common sense approach such as protecting our green spaces and prioritising brownfield sites. And also making sure there is provision for local infrastructure such as road improvements, more GPs and School places.
Gary Said “This government has made great progress helping people onto the housing ladder with First Time buyer incentives. But sadly Birmingham Labour are failing us in places like Gildas Ave, Kings Norton where development is going at a snails pace and families are living in between burnt-out houses and broken glass covered streets.”
Andy added “We’ve made great progress across the West Midlands with a brownfield first policy which has helped housebuilding go up 20%. But we need to make sure people here are able to afford a home too.”
