Gary Sambrook launches petition to keep our local train stations staffed

West Midlands Railway have announced a consultation on plans to close ticket offices at stations across the West Midlands.

Here in Northfield Constituency the proposed changes that may impact residents are as follows:-

Bournville, Kings Norton, Longbridge and Northfield will all see their ticket offices closed and replaced with what is being described as “Staff from our new mobile teams will be deployed here on a flexible basis to undertake customer service, passenger assistance, safety and general upkeep duties.”

Gary said “it is vital that local train stations are kept safe and clean and that staff are available to help disabled or vulnerable residents who need assistance. That is why I am launching a petition to keep a staff presence on our train stations. Please back the campaign by signing the petition below”
