I understand that Travel for West Midlands and local bus operators are reviewing a number of services in the West Midlands. This is as a significant number of routes are due for renewal in the new year.
Local Conservative Councillors and myself are concerned by reports that some of the routes in the region will be cancelled including some which provide school services each day and services that help people reach the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Many of these services are currently subsidised by Travel for West Midlands and a recent report has highlighted that many could become delisted next year.
Clearly this would have a negative impact on many residents who rely upon these services to go to work, school, shopping or access services like the doctors. That is why it is vital that as many of our local bus services are saved as possible.
Therefore we have launched a petition calling on the following local bus services that could be at risk, 27 / 76, 46 / 48, 38 / 42 to be saved.
Please consider signing this petition to help save the bus services, even if you do not personally use the service, as many people locally rely upon them.
