Gary Sambrook MP has called on Barclays to cancel their planned closure of their Longbridge Branch. Gary has launched this campaign following Barclays bank informing customers of their plans to close the branch.
Gary said “The local branch of your bank is vital to ensure people have access to the services they provide and form a key part of the local economy. This branch was always busy and an essential lifeline to many elderly and vulnerable customers. It must stay open”.
Gary added “It is essential banks maintain a presence on our high streets and have branches that are open to their customers. This is why local Conservatives on the Council have been campaigning to get the Council to pilot banking hubs, which have been successfully trialled in places such as Cornwall, to allow banks to co-locate staff in the same building to keep local bank counters open”.
Please sign the petition, share it with your friends and leave a comment. We want to tell Barclays what you believe will be the biggest impact of the closure of the Longbridge branch on the local community and its customers. This is now even more important with Natwest planning to close their Northfield branch, Lloyds having already closed Weoley and TSB shutting their Longbridge branch.
