Update on the former King George V Pub:-
Following my last update to residents on the current state of the King George V pub, corner of Bristol Road South and Tessall Lane I have held a meeting with the City Council regarding the site. I have stressed that the Council need to urgently step in and force the owners of the site to clean up and secure the site. This should include the removal of all rubbish and graffiti from the site.
I have also pushed for the enforcement of all conditions currently placed on the owners and also for the required planning document reports that have been requested to be submitted.
King George V is a historic building that plays a role in the character and heritage of our local area. It is vital that the fabric of the building and appearance of the site is protected. It is vital that the City Council uses the powers they have to ensure that the character and heritage of the site is protected.
To help pressure the Council to tackle the owners to take urgent action I am today launching a petition calling on the Council Enforcement Team to take these actions, listed above.
