Since Easter we have been a hybrid Parliament where proceedings have taken place online.
However, this has limited how we can function as a Government and Parliament. Debates were at time a scripted matter with no ability to intervene or question someone’s point, meaning legislation was not getting the scrutiny it deserves.
I’m pleased that this week we’re back, all be it a socially distanced parliament but back nevertheless.
We as politicians and leaders have a duty to lead in times of crisis. We also have a duty to fulfil on our election manifesto of which we cannot do from our living rooms and bedrooms.
